It's more than sustainability... it's a commitment to creating positive changes

Our Cherish the Planet program guides our efforts to understand and manage our impact from an environmental, social and governance (ESG) perspective including a consideration of responsible business practices and the wellbeing of our people. As our understanding of this complex and evolving area continues to grow, we strive to take a thoughtful, diligent approach to supporting our people and the communities and environments we interact with.

The program draws on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) and has six key pillars. These guide our priorities as we work to improve our practices, strengthen our data and make more informed decisions.

Emissions

Through ship design, operational practices and consideration of alternative fuels, we endeavour to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions where possible and feasible. We have engaged the services of SESG, an independent third-party organisation, to calculate the average carbon footprint of our guests and assist in setting achievable targets.

We believe it is a strength to have different perspectives and that it helps us find the best solutions and services for our guests. Growing with Communities

We are committed to respectful cultural interactions and endeavour to support local businesses and community initiatives through our visits. In consultation with local representatives, we aim to include Cherish the Planet guest experiences in our itineraries, following specific guidelines intended to provide benefits to the regions, people and places we visit.

Scenic Discovery Yachts

Scenic Discovery Yachts are built to Polar Class 6 standards for operations in polar waters. Our approach combines design innovation intended to improve fuel efficiency with a focus on improved waste management.
