Travel AlertsImportant Update: Low Water Levels on the Danube, Rhine & Main Rivers
Europe is currently experiencing an extended period of dry weather, with above-average temperatures and limited rainfall across many regions. As a result, water levels on parts of the Danube, Rhine and Main Rivers are significantly lower than usual and are impacting river navigation.
At present, reduced water levels are affecting sections of the Upper Danube between Regensburg and Passau near Pfelling, Dürnstein and Melk, and between Vienna and Budapest. Conditions are also impacting sections of the Main and Rhine Rivers, including between Koblenz and Rüdesheim, and near Maxau, where some stretches are currently not suitable for navigation.
To maintain our cruise operations wherever possible, adjustments will be required. These may include transfers to alternative ships, amended embarkation or disembarkation locations, hotel overnight stays, or coach transfers around affected sections of the river, while preserving the overall cruise experience and itinerary inclusions wherever possible.
We have commenced communications with guests and travel advisors with cruises commencing within the next 14 days and will continue to provide updates as alternative itineraries are confirmed. Guests departing beyond this period will receive updates as their departure date approaches and further information becomes available.
Our priority remains supporting guests with their upcoming travel plans while navigating these challenging river conditions. We continue to work closely with local authorities, port officials and our nautical teams to provide a safe and enjoyable European experience for our guests.
Bordeaux Region Wildfires
Our teams are continuing to closely monitor the situation in Bordeaux, and at this time all cruises are operating as scheduled, and all key infrastructure in the region is open.
The recent fire activity has been declared under control and continues to be closely monitored by French Authorities.
The safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew remains our highest priority. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates should there be any changes.
